3. The working principle of Roots flow meters?
Working principle of Roots flowmeter: Roots flowmeter, also known as waist wheel flowmeter, is a volumetric flowmeter mainly used for continuous or intermittent measurement of flow in pipelines, especially suitable for measuring the flow of large-diameter gas, liquid, and steam medium fluids in industrial pipelines.. The core working principle is as follows: there is a measuring chamber inside the housing of the Roots flowmeter, and a pair of waist wheels (also known as rotors) that can rotate tangentially are installed inside the measuring chamber. These two waist wheels mesh with each other through a pair of coaxial transmission gears installed outside the flowmeter housing, thus achieving mutual linkage. When a fluid passes through the flowmeter, the two waist wheels will rotate in the positive direction under the action of the differential pressure of the fluid at the inlet and outlet of the flowmeter. As the waist wheel rotates, the liquid in the measuring chamber continuously flows in and out. By accurately measuring the volume of the measuring chamber and the number of rotations of the waist wheel, the fluid flow rate can be accurately calculated. Schematic diagram of working principle: (Note: The diagram shows the internal structure and working principle of the Roots flowmeter. The waist wheel rotates under the action of fluid differential pressure, thereby achieving flow measurement.) The adva
